TL;DR
- Signups are open worldwide, starting today. Wherever you run your pet care business, you can create a profile now.
- Billing is in euros. The Free plan costs €0, forever. Pro is €199/year + VAT at the founding rate for the first 100 Pro subscribers — locked for as long as the subscription stays active — then €299/year + VAT.
- Your profile page and booking link work from the day you sign up, for every client you share them with. When your page has the essentials you can request a review; approval makes the page eligible for search-engine indexing while search-engine visibility is enabled.
- Owner-side search is the next chapter, and it is coming soon. Sitters who join early will have a profile and reviews already built when it opens.
- On every plan, in every country, you keep 100% of your booking earnings. Your clients pay you directly; we never touch the money.
Melbourne was the proof
We built The Pet Sitter in Melbourne. Not "launched a landing page in" — built. Real sitters created real profiles, took real bookings, sent real invoices and got paid — directly, by their own clients, keeping every cent of it.
That mattered more than any spreadsheet. When you charge a flat subscription instead of a commission, the only way to know the product is worth paying for is to watch people run their businesses on it. Melbourne is where we watched. The booking flow, the invoicing, the daily report cards owners actually open, the client import that turns a phone full of contacts into a client book — all of it was shaped by sitters using it on real animals, in real houses, on real weekends.
Melbourne is where we started. It was never the size of what we sell.
Software has no city limits
Here is the thing we understood slowly, and then all at once: the product a sitter actually runs their business on is software. A profile page, a booking link, a client book, invoices, a calendar. None of it cares which city you are in.
A commission marketplace has to conquer one city at a time, because it only works when owners and sitters show up in the same postcode. Software has no such constraint. A dog walker in Lyon and a cat sitter in Austin need the same tools as a sitter in Fitzroy — and there was no honest reason to keep telling them to wait.
So we have stopped. Signups are open worldwide, starting now. Billing is in euros, because we are a Belgian company: the Free plan is €0 forever, and Pro is €199/year + VAT at the founding rate for the first 100 Pro subscribers — locked for as long as the subscription stays active — then €299/year + VAT once those places are gone. The founding counter on the pricing page is a live count of real paid subscriptions, not a marketing timer.
What you get on day one, anywhere
I want to be precise here, because "global launch" is exactly the phrase companies use when they mean "we translated the homepage".
The day you sign up — in any country — you get:
- A profile page and a booking link that work immediately. Share the link with your existing clients on WhatsApp, put it in your email signature, print it on a card. They can book you the same day. There is no waiting period before you can earn: you request a review when your page is ready, our review decides when it is approved, and your search-engine visibility setting controls whether search engines may index it. Neither affects whether your own clients can use your links.
- Your client book, imported. Upload a CSV and your clients are in — on Free up to the 10-client limit, on Pro without one.
- Bookings and invoices, including cash. Create bookings for your clients, send proper invoices, and mark cash and bank-transfer bookings as paid. Work you did off-platform can be invoiced too.
- Report cards and calendar sync. Daily report cards with photos and GPS-tracked walks for the owners, and your bookings in Google Calendar or Apple Calendar.
- 100% of your earnings. Your clients pay you directly — cash, bank transfer, your own payment account. Money never passes through us, on any plan, and it never will.
What we do not promise you on day one is new customers. Which brings me to the honest part.
The next chapter: owner-side search
Owner-side search — pet owners browsing and finding sitters near them — is coming soon. It is the part of the platform we are opening carefully, because a search page with three sitters in your city helps nobody: not the owners searching it, and not the three sitters.
It is also, frankly, the argument for joining early. When search opens in your area, it will not rank a profile created that morning above one with a year of completed bookings, reviews and a filled-out profile behind it. Sitters who are on the platform now, running their existing clients through it, will have that history already built. Your profile score, your reviews, your response time — they start accumulating from your first booking.
It is small, and that is the deal
The Pet Sitter is a small company. When you send a support message, I read it. When something is missing for your country — a tax rule on invoices, a payment method your clients expect, a word we translated badly — telling us genuinely changes what gets built next. Several of the features above exist because a sitter in Melbourne asked for them.
Wherever you are: create your profile, start on Free, and tell us what is missing. That is how this was built the first time.
