What is Dog Walking?

Dog walking on The Pet Sitter means a trusted, local walker picks your dog up from home, takes them on a proper walk, and brings them back tired and happy. Walks typically last 30–60 minutes and can be booked as one-offs or as a regular daily schedule.

Unlike large dog-walking companies that may walk 6–8 dogs at once with rotating staff, sitters on The Pet Sitter are independent walkers who build a relationship with your dog. You know exactly who's walking your dog every time. Many walkers specialise in solo walks or small groups of 2–3 dogs, giving your pet more individual attention.

Sitters set their own rates. Confirm the total, currency and any agreed extras before booking, then pay the sitter directly. The Pet Sitter is free and takes no booking commission; an external payment provider may charge its own fees.

Frequently asked questions

How long are the walks?

Most walks are 30 or 60 minutes. You can agree on the length with your walker based on your dog's breed, age, and energy level.

Will my dog walk with other dogs?

That depends on the walker. Some offer solo walks only, others walk small groups of 2–3 dogs. Each walker's style is listed on their profile. You can always request a solo walk.

How does the walker access my home?

Most owners provide a spare key or use a lockbox. You'll agree on the access method during the meet-and-greet. Keys are returned when you end the arrangement.

Can I book a regular weekly schedule?

Absolutely. Most dog walking clients book a recurring schedule (e.g., Monday–Friday at 12pm). Regular bookings are the most common arrangement.

How do I find a dog walker near me?

Public search for local dog walkers is coming soon. Today, a walker can share their profile or booking link with you; use it to review their rates, reviews, and walking style, message them, and arrange a meet-and-greet before the first walk.

How much does daily dog walking cost?

Ask for a quote based on walk length, number of dogs, solo or group arrangements and any travel or pickup. Sitters set their own rates. Confirm the total, currency and any agreed extras before booking, then pay the sitter directly.
