During the Booking & Safety

Everything on this page in one place. If you cannot find what you need, message us — a person reads everything.
Will I receive updates during my pet's stay?
Most sitters send regular updates including photos and notes about how your pet is doing. Our report card feature allows sitters to send structured updates with photos, mood indicators, activity logs (fed, walked, medicated), and even GPS-tracked walk routes. You can discuss update frequency and preferences with your sitter before the booking starts.
What happens if my pet has a medical emergency during care?
Before the booking, provide your sitter with your vet's contact details and written authorisation for emergency veterinary care. In an emergency, the sitter will contact you immediately and take your pet to the nearest vet if needed. Discuss emergency procedures during the meet-and-greet so both you and the sitter know the plan. Keep your phone accessible during the booking period.
What does Verified Sitter mean on The Pet Sitter?
Every sitter profile must be manually reviewed and approved before search engines may index it and before it can appear in our in-product search when that opens. An approved profile receives the Verified Sitter badge; it means the profile was reviewed, not that the sitter's identity or background was checked. The sitter's search-engine visibility setting must also be enabled for indexing. A sitter can share their direct profile and booking links from signup, including while the profile awaits approval or search-engine visibility is off. Identity Verified is a separate badge, awarded only after our team manually reviews an identity document the sitter uploads privately. Optional police-check and insurance badges appear only after our team reviews the relevant evidence. All reviews come from completed bookings on the platform, so each native review is tied to a real booking.
