Services & Rates

Everything on this page in one place. If you cannot find what you need, message us — a person reads everything.

What services can I offer on The Pet Sitter?

You can offer pet boarding (overnight care at your home), house sitting (staying at the owner's home), drop-in visits (short visits for feeding and companionship), dog walking, and doggy daycare. You choose which services to offer and set your own rates for each. You can update your service offerings at any time from your dashboard.

How do I set my rates?

You set your own rates for each service you offer. There are no minimum or maximum prices — you decide what your time and expertise are worth. You can edit your services and rates at any time from the Availability tab of your dashboard, which is also where you set your surcharges: peak periods, a weekend rate, an additional-pet fee, and a last-minute rate.

What if a pet needs medication or extra walks?

Agree it with the owner before you accept the booking — the message thread is the place to do it. Your profile carries a rate for each service you offer plus the surcharges below; there is no menu of paid add-ons to attach to it. So when a booking asks more of you than your standard rate covers, say so in the conversation, agree what you will charge for it, and reflect that in what you bill. Owners pay you directly and the platform never handles booking money, so the figure the two of you agree on is the figure you collect.

One extra charge is built in: the additional-pet fee. The first pet is covered by your base rate, and every pet after that adds a flat amount to each night or visit.

How do I set seasonal or holiday pricing?

From the Availability tab of your dashboard. There are four surcharges, and you use as many or as few of them as you like.

  • Peak periods — name a period (Christmas, the school holidays, a long weekend), give it a start and end date, and set a multiplier. Your rates are multiplied automatically on those days.
  • Weekend rate — a multiplier applied to every Saturday and Sunday.
  • Additional pet — a flat amount added per extra pet, per night or visit. The first pet is included in your base rate.
  • Last-minute rate — a multiplier applied to the whole booking when it starts within the notice period you set.

If a day falls inside a peak period and also lands on a weekend, only the higher of the two multipliers applies — they never stack.

Owners see the full breakdown — your base rate and each surcharge by name — on the booking request form, before they submit it.
