Your first week as a sitter

October 27, 2026

Welcome. Start with the clients you already have and the next booking you need to organise. Your page and booking link work from signup; profile approval is not a prerequisite for using them.

Bring your clients

Add clients one by one or by CSV import from Clients. There is no commercial client allowance. Technical limits on each request protect the service from abuse. Adding a record does not create an account for that person or send them a booking.

For a CSV import:

  1. In Clients, choose Import CSV and upload a .csv file or paste its contents, including the header row.
  2. Use name, email, phone, suburb, pets and notes as column headers. Only a name is required. The upload limit is 1 MB; use smaller batches for larger lists.
  3. Read the imported/skipped counts, then check the new records. Rows without a name and detected duplicates are skipped. Invalid email addresses may be omitted; importing again does not update existing records.
  4. Open a client record to correct details. The pets column is a text summary, not a pet profile created for the owner.

Importing sends no invitations. For a worked example, see moving clients from a spreadsheet.

Send a client invitation when you want to connect their account. They must sign in using the email link sent to the invited address before you can propose their first booking. You can also share your booking link and let them request dates themselves. Keep using email, WhatsApp or whatever suits you for the conversation.

Set your rates and payment instructions

Add a priced service in Services & Rates before taking a booking. Your location determines the starting currency; check your rates and currency together.

In Profile → How you take payment, choose how clients pay you and add your instructions. Cash, bank transfer, your own payment-provider links and market-specific options are supported. Local methods depend on your location and the provider account you use; selecting one does not open that account for you. We never collect booking money or confirm that a transfer arrived. Read payments for sitters.

Complete your first booking

Share the permanent booking link from your dashboard. Your client opens the link, adds their pet details and requests dates; you review and accept the request. Alternatively, propose dates to a client with a completed booking or an invitation followed by verified sign-in with the invited email; they must confirm your proposal.

During an in-progress booking, you can send report cards with photos, care notes and recorded GPS walk routes. After receiving payment directly, mark the booking paid. Bookings and this manual payment tracking are included for every sitter.

Invoice tools are included for all sitters. You can create manual invoices for client records, including work arranged elsewhere, and completed bookings can generate invoices automatically when automatic invoicing is enabled. Complete the appropriate business and tax details before issuing invoices. An invoice records the amount billed and the payment status you entered; it is not independent proof that money arrived.

Make your page useful

Add photos and your bio in Profile, and set services, rates and availability in Services & Rates. Your dashboard checklist shows the essentials needed to request a human profile review. Approval awards Verified Sitter and makes your page eligible for search-engine indexing while your visibility setting is enabled. It does not check identity or guarantee traffic. In-product sitter search is on the roadmap; your shared links already work.

Optional evidence badges are separate: Account → Verification accepts documents for human review. The badge guide explains each claim. Review imports can also show verified reviews from another platform with their source.

Need a hand?

Use the support widget or the getting started guide. We want bookings to be easier to organise, not to dictate where you talk to your clients.
